A New Beginning

Six months ago, I didn’t expect to step away from photography.

It wasn’t because I lost my passion or ran out of ideas. Instead, both my Instagram and Facebook photography accounts were permanently removed without warning or a clear explanation. Years of photographs, conversations, collaborations, and relationships disappeared overnight. Like many photographers, social media had become more than a place to share my work, it was also where I connected with an incredible community of creatives and friends.

Losing that overnight was discouraging. For a while, I wasn’t sure where I fit anymore.

But as time passed, I realized that what I missed wasn’t the follower count or the algorithms. I missed creating. I missed collaborating with people who love making art. I missed meeting new models, catching up with familiar faces, and seeing what everyone else was creating. Photography has always been about the people as much as the images.

So, this editorial feels like the right place to begin again.

The Summer Tennis Editorial isn’t just another photoshoot, it’s the first chapter of a new journey. Instead of trying to rebuild what I lost, I’m focused on creating something even stronger. JakePerusich.com is becoming the home for my work, while these editorials will document each creative collaboration along the way.

To everyone I’ve worked with before: I genuinely miss creating with you, and I hope our paths cross again. And to those discovering my work for the first time, welcome, I’m excited to see where this new chapter leads.

If you’ve been thinking about creating something together, whether it’s an editorial concept, a creative portrait session, or simply an excuse to make interesting photographs, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s make this the beginning of something great.

Thanks for taking the time to explore this editorial. Every shoot is an opportunity to tell a story, collaborate with incredible people, and continue growing as a photographer. If this collection inspired you or sparked an idea of your own, I’d love to hear it.

Whether you’re looking for updated portraits, an editorial-style session, content for your portfolio, or simply have a creative idea you’ve always wanted to bring to life, let’s make it happen.

I’m always looking to collaborate with creative people on future editorial projects. Experience isn’t required, just a willingness to create something different. If you’d like to collaborate, I’d love to hear your ideas.
